This one- just getting it ready for the next owner. Reminiscing every time I turn the key
The next one?
Minor mods-
Tacho
Hope to get it plated as a 5 seater, then I can drive it everyday.
Will put the split rims into storage, out for the big trips.
Playing with cab/ full length hard top ideas, but will probably go with a bikini top.
Considering swapping the ffr tail for a GS tailgate, will need to add a RHS bracket.
Getting off-track as much as possible.
Cheers, BDave.

How's everyone's experiences of owning a 110/Perentie for a while now?
There's been enough on ebay to think that either people are trying to cash in on a private sale, or they didn't quite meet ownership expectations. There's also been a decent number of military specific parts sold off by vehicle owners. I'm hoping to get some views from those selling due to failed expectations, as well as from happy owners.
So, is living with your Landy, living up to your expectations?
What mods have you found to be critical from a user point of view? i.e. creature comforts (stereo, seats etc) and utility mods (PAS, storage boxes, cargo barrier, higher visibility/non-military paint etc)

Im having fun with it 10,000ks in around 10 months of ownership.
Haven't really done much in the way of mods other than adding a compressor
An axle let go on the beach recently, Sourced proper replacement and it was nothing like what came out.. Original CV wouldn't even fit on replacement army axle
biggest ongoing concern has been the fuel tank when i picked it up it was leaking. I pulled it all down brazed lead wiped and redkote on the inside. Fixed!
Until i slammed it on the trails again
Whenever the key gets turned it guarantees an adventure. Last weekend was a good drive with the roof off up a fun trail in the dark with the rain!!

Like you I deduce that with the number on the market, there must have been a lot purchased for short term resale. I have inspected and bid - but alas I am yet to win.... either my price expectations have to change - or the market needs to be saturated and fall! I hope the guy that paid $18k+ for the refurbished GS in Sydney last sale enjoys his machine!
Anyway - I WILL own one....It will get power steering, it will probably get some paint and some signwriting and it will become the daily work vehicle for our cattle stud.
G'Day all

To discuss more military specific uses and fittings on your Perentie, you will find more info on the REMLR Forum. There is a section there on Radios, which features both historic original fitments, and also current users.
Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers - Index
REMLR will also be a good source of support in you maintaining the originality of your Perentie.
I'm going guns on the next auction. I'm after a GS leaving it as is, I will put a lockable battery isolator in, maybe put some draws and bed in the back and I will be able to leave all my fishing and camping gear in there so I can go and explore all the nooks of my home state at the drop of a hat. I want to set it up so it looks as is but a real user friendly weekend explorer.
Hopefully will be getting a GS from Brisbane. Ship it up to CQLD and do a couple of comfort mods - UHF, Stereo, Spotties and maybe fridge outlet. Then use it as a bush/hunting wagon on my days off, and also maybe a drive or two to work...
