My "New" 88 110 Troop carrier which has now just 10000km on is needs it's oil changed.
Can someone who really "knows" tell me what oil to use as the old FMX is no longer made.
Should I use GTX diesel or RX Super?
I would like to change the oil tomorrow before going on a 700km drive.
Cheers.

No I will have to get one when I get back and change it then.
Would the GTX do for a 1000 km change or don't risk it and use the RX?
Before you try to buy a filter have a read of posts about #49 - #50 in the attached link - most retailers won't have a reference for these vehicles and will try to sell you what's listed for the civvie model of the same era
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...reference.html
In reality any 15-40 diesel oil will be ok - it's a very robust engine
Read up on other fluids or ask when you're ready to change them - there's a few different experiences on here

Wow, thanks for the link. I will stick with the Land Rover one. Just waiting for the mob in Vic to get back to it.
Cheers.

Oil now changed, will do the filter when I get back. Cheers.
Donaldson publish a list of alternative part numbers by various makers for the perentie size spin on single oil filter (ie not twin filter used in turbo motors). The only variation appears to be the length or diameter (physical size) of the filter. The list is on the below site.

The below list is also from Donaldson as alternative to P550422. Although I've never heard of most makers.

SupporterI had hells own trouble buying my first replacement oil filter for my Perentie.
After a lot of hunting got hold of a genuine Isuzu filter - Part No. 8-94321219-1.
I now run with FLeetguard filter Part No. LF3642; a bit cheaper and I can get them readily from Cummins Filtration.
With regard to engine oil I run Nulon High Protection Diesel Oil 15W-40. I'm running the same oil in the LT95 with the addition of Nulon G70 gear additive.
A little off topic but with regards the spin-on fuel filter I run with another FLeetguard filter - Part No. FF5114.
Good luck with your maintenance!
