who's doing it?
I would've thought VTNZ or the likes would do it on the day you booked it in, unless it was a damaged vehicle looking for a re-vin, then they often have a particular guy that attends different branches on different days of the week.
Sounds like the type of bloke to stay away from.
I'd be picking it up before he officially knocks it back and take it somewhere else, even if it meant transport to Whakatane where you know one went through.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
North Shore Compliance centre, that the AA recommended. He started on it yesterday apparently so will see how he goes. Hopefully he's the kind of guy that seriously under promises and hopefully over delivers.
Thanks for all the feedback guys.
I have done a massive dis-service to Paul at North Shore Compliance. Went and saw him today and he explained the process. He is confident of geeting the right result, but said it wasn't straight forward.
He had over 50 cars in his workshop ranging from Americam Muscle cars to imported European luxury brands. He knows his stuff and I am quietly confident.
A quick update. The documentation is all good to get the registration, just awaiting the automotive engineer's report. I have a couple of rust areas that need repairing. Hopefully the report will be sent to me tomorrow.
So all in all looking pretty positive. Fingers crossed the engineer hasn't found anything too worrying.
Ok into the home straight now. The Landy is with Bute Collision for the rust repairs. Hopefully this will take a week or so, then have the repair certified and then apply for registration.
Have 28 days to get this done, so hopefully will be driving around in a months time!
Good to hear. How bad and where is the rust?
there seems to be a few on gumtree now. so it must be doable
