What year is your one? There is apparently a 20 year expiry on emissions regs.
Hi are there an kiwis out there that have registered (or tried to register) their Perentie's in NZ.
Mine is currently with North Shore Compliance Centre, and I've been told that it will be difficult. Have all my fingers, toes crossed.
Would value any feedback.

Hi Dougal, it's 1989, so no issues with emmissions crumple zones etc. The main issue from what I can gather is that they were not registered under the Australian civillian system.
When I picked the Landy up at Grays another buyer said it should be a doddle, since they have an ADR plate. Maybe the compliance guy is being too pessimistic (under selling and hopefully over delivering!)
Let us know how you get on. These seem to be coming in via lots of different channels but I don't know anyone personally who's got or getting one.
Will do. They've had the Landy since last Tue, haven't heard anything, no news is good news hopefully.
kia ora my uncle down in optiki got his done in whakatane and had no dramas at all.
While they were not offered to the Civilian Market, there are several examples of Perenties getting Civvy registration from new outside of Army ownership.
Jaguar/Rover Australia (JRA) had some on NSW reg, while Maj Les Hiddens (aka The Bush Tucker Man) had NT reg. The 6x6 was offered to Emergency Services and Utility companies with quite a few being sold.
The ADR Compliance plate certifies that they were eligible for civvy reg, even though the manufacturer chose not to market them.
If you continue to have problems with the VINing process, I'd get in contact with GraysNZ and/or AFM for support. Perhaps they could talk some sense to the Inspector and quote the applicable regulations that apply.
Thanks 303gunner.
I don't see what difference prior Australian registration makes. NZ has a different rule book to Au, surely it only matters that it fits within NZ rules.
Isn't it the compliancers job to tell you what the specific problems are?
Well just spoke to guy. He's had my landy for a week and done nothing with it! Too busy, would have been nice to get a call since he originally told me he'd be done with it after 3 days or so.
He didn't exactly inspire confidence telling me that it wouldn't be straight forward. I reckon the glass isn't half or empty with this guy, it's fallen off the table and smashed to a million pieces!!!
Will update the post once I hear back from him, but won't hold my breath.
