I can't understand why everyone is so worried about all these issues over compliance the facts are they were built to the ADR's of the time, and people are purchasing them, road registering them and enjoying them. If the government an army had any issues with them being sold to the public to be used on public roads, we would not be able to purchase them let alone register and drive them on public roads. We live in an age of litigation and I would suggest defence, federal government, state government, and AFM would not want a class action. So to all I say get a life, and stop all the miss information. One other thing I find hard to understand is Weeds you paint a picture of doom and gloom over these vehicles but you want one seem strange to me. If they are so unsafe why do you want one, I wouldn't want to go near one after I have read your various posts on this topic

Rod......I just question statements that are made with no reference. The guy I know works closely with the DOT.....I think he has plenty of other stuff to discuss than the perenties

If it doom and gloom to you put me on your ignore list, I'm just asking questions which is what forums are about.

I think I have said all must be good as they are all getting registered.

I went and look at the Brisbane ones today......in my opinion they are average. I best not list I what I found wrong on each of them as it might stop bidders.......so when somebody buys the one without a fuel cap with a tank full of water I suppose they have got a cracka buy.

No miss info from me.....just throwing my thoughts out there.

Won't mention it again just for you

Oh and I'm no chance of buying a 2 door rag top. Have probably missed my chance for a four door......

Will still potter around the auctions as they are just a couple of blocks from my work.

No offence intended Kelvin. It is good to be able to debate on a forum with out it becoming nasty. The point is I don't want some swarmy bureaucrat stopping us from buying and driving these vehicles due to some one or a group constantly stating that these vehicles are not safe or do not comply with ADR's. I enjoy driving my perentie and want to enjoy keeping it mostly intact.
    Cheers

I think there may be a few who are trying to run them down so they can hopefully pick up a bargain.
I can still remember the rubbish that was posted in that previous thread.
There was a fellow that posted all the Perenties in Afghanistan were being driven into the sea over there rather than being shipped home and he had positive proof, a mate told him.
Some people have bought Perenties with Afghanistan service history.

It's ok to question peoples statements but, please, don't post up fanciful rumor.
(Note: that last statement was meant as a general request and not aimed at anyone.)

Have a look at my recent post in Compliance Plate thread.

Picked up my 110 GS from Grays Adelaide on Monday, fitted key to ignition, drove to Regency Inspections on Tuesday, in and out in 45 mins no issues. I had all the tools on the bonnet, no modifications required.

Registration at Service SA Marion, 30 minutes, no issues.

Insurance, Budget Direct, full comp, $321.

A very simple and streamlined service by all involved.

Just be sure to get a temporary Compulsory Third Party cert from a Service SA centre prior to driving from Grays. They cost about $48 for a three day period and allow you to drive without plates for 'mechanical repairs'.

Have now fitted combination pintle/50mm towbal, added civvy trailer plug. Next job is to sew up a 'spider web' shade cloth for the cab.

There probably won't be any issues but it a big call say they are compliant....if I end up with one it will be demilitarized pretty quick.
I do have army rops engineering papers.

They are an external engineering company's documentation looking to upgrade the RFSV's. I believe them to be the initial study that then became the SRV upgrades.

Regards to having the exhaust coming out the back, I would leave it out to the side as fumes will enter the cabin. I know from personal experience, Carbon monoxide poisoning, almost killed me.

In that case, the exhaust system coming out the back is likely not ADR compliant and therefore the vehicle is unroadworthy.

why would you say crap like that.

people are here to learn and you troll away with comments of no help.

'likely non compliant' . is it or isn't it ?

if you don't know , don't make the comment. Or ask the question.

As it is, exhausts out the rear are not compulsory, there are many adr compliant methods of side exit under specific circumstances.
