The transport department could have an entirely different opinion and theirs is the one I would listen to, you will even get differing opinions from people within the transport department because they:-) will interpret the rules themselves. I can't understand why everyone is so worried about all these issues over compliance the facts are they were built to the ADR's of the time, and people are purchasing them, road registering them and enjoying them. If the government an army had any issues with them being sold to the public to be used on public roads, we would not be able to purchase them let alone register and drive them on public roads. We live in an age of litigation and I would suggest defence, federal government, state government, and AFM would not want a class action. So to all I say get a life, and stop all the miss information. One other thing I find hard to understand is Weeds you paint a picture of doom and gloom over these vehicles but you want one seem strange to me. If they are so unsafe why do you want one, I wouldn't want to go near one after I have read your various posts on this topic
