    Sun visors

Is it possible to tighten the sun visor so it stays up by itself?

My drivers visor needs ... Support.

Passenger side is fine. Considered swapping them over but then the document sleeve thing will be on the wrong side.

    Apologies for being trivial.

I had the opposite problem. The visors had seemingly never been used and so had seized up. I snapped them both off whilst trying.

No; this was actually discussed just recently. You could try swapping the pins from the passenger side visor to the driver's side one, but then your passenger one will be falling into your field of vision anyway.

You could take the pins out, weld a bit of material on to them and then grind them round again. That would restore friction of the joint. You might even get away with just bending the pins a bit (good luck).

That, or just buy new visors.

As it happens, the ones on my Defender are constantly flopping down and the ones on my Perentie are rock solid (glued?). It would be funny if I wasn't so used to this type of thing... Landy ownership

    Thanks Dervish.

Been a couple of months since I posted this. I have definitely acclimatised to the Land Rover ... personality ... in that time.

My field mod is still very effective (picture above), so this fix is a little way down the list, as it is fairly tolerable at the moment.

When I get a "round toit", I'll pull the pins out and try to pack them with something. Welding is not a skill I have acquired yet
