If you are mildly capable with spanners you can add a turbo for about $1500.

Reminds me I need to update the pics in that thread.

Here is the part number for the genuine turbo manifold. Should be about $300 from isuzu

Isuzurover you reckon it's that cheap?

I was thinking of just getting the KLR kit and knocking it out in a weekend. Not sure I want to spend all the time sourcing the bits and having the truck off the road for too long.

That is what it cost me for my setup. No reason you cannot source all the bits yourself then do the fitting in a weekend.

That price includes $500 for the exhaust.

EDIT - approximate breakdown of prices:
    Mandrel Bent 3" Exhaust $500
    Manifold ~$300
    Turbo (S/H) ~$300
Oil feed line and T (Pirtek) etc... ~$150
Various silicon hoses and tubing/bends/connectors ~$100
    Auber EGT ~$100
And another $50 for misc. components such as bolts.

Note that I was generously supplied with a few laser cut flanges for free...

Once she is wound up she floats along nicely, sure having that extra for hills, and accelerating, but for me at this stage that is luxury to have. If I had a real performance problem on trips then that would be different, but so far i haven't.

KLR guys say it only takes a short drive outside their driveway, actually the little hill to the left and everyone who has test driven one is sold I am sure if I end up driving one it will become a priority. My youngest also keeps at me to get it done

So strategy is to make sure I avoid driving one and enjoy what I have
A friend, Perentie owner and regular KLR customer went out to KLR recently to talk about the power steering mod. Matt asked him to move their demonstrator and before my friend got out Matt suggested he take it for a drive.

The only comment my friend could say to Matt at the end of the drive was "bastard" because he now wants the turbo mod.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Not much. The Minto ones usually have blue slips.
