    I know, that is rubbish.
She is letting her own personal opinion interfere with her job of applying the rules correctly.
Go elsewhere. If you can't, speak to her supervisor.
Get them to list what specifically does not conform to which ADR.
The ADR at the time of manufacture applies to the vehicle.
    Australian Design Rules
When a road vehicle is first used on Australian roads the relevant state or territory government's legislation generally requires that it continue to comply with the relevant ADRs as at the time of manufacture.

    Sounds like an RFSV?

Surely there are examples already registered in SA?

Maybe put the word out on REMLR. No doubt you will get some further good advice on how to overcome this bureaucratic challenge. It will make success all the sweeter.

Do you mind if we ask for piccies?

Secondly irrespective of what she says the vehicle only has to comply with the ADR at the date of manufacture, not at the date of first (civilian) registration.

Secondly the Australian Standard 4876.1 (the one on bull bars) only applies to vehicles manufactured after 31 December 2002.

She may be the chief inspector, but she has to obey the law. So she needs to go back to her books and refresh her knowledge.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The problem with the ComLaw site is that it only supplies the third edition of the Vehicle Standards (ADR) from 2005, the 2nd edition ADR on the Dept of Infrastructure site is that it is static at the as gazetted in 1975 so misses both the SIII Army and the Perentie production periods.

Are these not the most current edition 2 ADRs?

OK show me ADR 17.4.3 the one that applies to diesel engine fuel shut off for vehicles manufactured in 1985 or later but before it ceased to apply to new cars in 2005?

At some point in that period stop cables did not comply and an electric solenoid was required.

That would be a "no" then.

Where would one source the latest edition 2 ADR's?

A little further research reveals VSI22

If you went to Regency, then I know exactly who you are talking about.

This same person defected a brand new car. I know this because it was my D4.

Without going into the story again, she is of the opinion that she is right, and it is up to you to prove everything.
