    No rego allowed

Went for Tier 2 check VIN ID only, they didn't like the 3rd seat & wanted me to take it to vehicle standards, I said I will pull the seat out so they retracted that paperwork made me wait another 15 min then gave me a slip only & said they don't like seat & side baskets.
Went to standards & the engineer freaked a 50ish woman; winch no good, bullbar & side rails no good, roll cage no good, mirrors no good, bonnet brackets no good.
She called vehicle aggressive when I called her on this she changed her wording "to aggressive to pedestrians", when I told her built to ADR was told that she had seen hundreds of these cobbled together things in her time as engineer in England & because owned by Government someone signs off & everyone else agrees, but it is not happening on her watch.

As an pom she was not a fan of Land Rovers & called me crazy when I said it was my 4th & I should have learned my lesson.

So here I am paid premium for what I thought was a legitimate road worthy vehicle & I have to convert to Defender, should have got for wreck value with all the changes wanted.

I knew it was to good to be true.

Maybe try a different engineer? Or remove the main offenders and put them back later? I have no idea how strict everything is down your way.

Somebody going through "the change"? FFS some of the crap I see on the road and they give you a hard time on something built like the proverbial and safe as houses. What did you pay for it? (if I may ask)

What vehicle did you get? Was the aggressive lady, aggressive to Landrovers, evaluating against the rules at the time the vehicle was built?

If you got this vehicle from the ADF vehicle auctions you should let them know. I am sure they would not be happy to know that the market maybe about to have the bottom drop out of the market.

Even senior engineers can and do get it wrong AFAIK it has to pass ADRs for the year on the compliance plate not this year and that's all states not just South Oz

Also the main offenders are, winch, bullbar, bonnet brackets, side rails of bull bar, mirrors (I like them I can see everything) internal roll bar to close to occupants, rear seat (easy remove), side baskets, (can remove but don't want to) then spare wheels stick out, then spare wheel holder; Then what?

So I have to remove everything I purchased the vehicle for FFS, probably will & then put it all back on, police that checked it out thought it was cool & all good so once registered should be ok.

I don't want to drill out rivets, remove stuff make covers glue expensive foam to every surface someone could touch, if I hurt myself my problem, if I hurt passenger well they should have done risk assessment before entering vehicle, if I hurt pedestrian & in the wrong there are laws that punish me.
