    BANG

Was pulling trees out over the weekend. Had chain attached to bull bar and pulling in reverse.
BANG, car lost drive to front wheels had to drive home with transfer case in.
Front prop shaft is turning but no drive to wheels.

    Ideas???

Seeing the front diff is going the correct way in reverse and should be stronger, you most probably have exploded a CV Joint.

Otherwise the diff may have dropped a few teeth off the crown wheel or pinion.
Jack up each wheel in turn and rotate. You will probably hear some crunchy noises and take it from there. With transfer in neutral turn each wheel, If one turns the driveshaft then you know its the other CV.

You have either snapped one of the front drive shafts (half shafts), cv joints, or strippped one of the drive hubs.
My bet would be on a cv joint.

Your lucky mate, I have always been told never ever tow or pull things out in reverse as you can stuff the reverse idler in the main box.
