    Injectors

I decided to have my injectors serviced , so I tried to pull them .They would not budge , so I ran the motor with the fan belt removed and the hold down bolts backed off .One came loose , with a slide hammer I got 2 more to come out after hours of work .The last one broke off in the hole .I wielded a bolt to it and with the extra heat it came out . On removal I found that none of my injectors had the rubber seal on the top and with the washing of the motor water would have gone down the sides of the injectors causing them to rust in .It may be worth the effort to look at your injectors to see they have the rubber seal .

Most likely they would have had the rubber seal when fitted but over time it does perish and probably with the number of times they would have been cleaned with a gurney has contributed to them falling apart. They are not much of a seal really. I coat the injector body with neversieze and also smear it around in the recess in the head when I change them. Must have been really corroded into the head for the injector to break. There are second hand injectors in this month's AFM auction but just check the part number as most of the ones I have seen auctioned so far have been turbo motor injectors.

    injectors

    Hi Guys,
I was wondering about this aspect...going forward.
Does one buy auction injectors ??? or get your original ones serviced.
At present (with no information or experience) i am thinking serviced to be a better outcome than an unknown entity.
