Wow,apparently I will finally have the beast on the road!
ItÂ’s been a long and expensive haul to get this custom motor home up to Australian standard and safe, formerly a 6 wheel infantry carrier the previous owner had satisfactoryly built on the chassis a motorhome , but had removed the middle axle to its detriment as well as sub standard modifications that should never have been approved in queensland or this country! ,so firstly a rebuilt custom heavy duty diff was installed with new suspension (because load rating in rear diff was a total fail and the start of our many disappointments)Front breaks have been beefed up considerably - custom made and fitted in order to compensate for the two missing breaks from the previously removed -mid axle and discs. The beast is heavy and is hard to stop
An engineerd towbar fitted to replace the fragiled one
All surround externall lights replaced to be compliant with vehicle regestration, gas and electrical modification to be compliant with state legislation ,replacement of all four batteries that lasted about a week after purchase,!a future over haul of solar charging system is also imminent .
Overhauled power steering unit, realigned alternator and compressor units (impacted previously) installed modified water tank
Have replaced tyres with load rated muddies
The Engineers RTA and mechanics really went to town on this truck and charged accordingly but alas there is light and the end of the tunnel
Stay tuned!
