I have changed th battery in my TD5 and radio not working and have no radio handbook but have been told how to do it but doesn't work a '2' is flashing on screen.
    my code is 7146
    so I press button 1 - 7x
    then 2 - 1x
    then 3 - 4x
    then 4 - 6x
    then pressed 5
is this the correct procedure or do i need to press something else

When I have pressed button one 7x the radio works but displays flashes and
cuts out and goes back to a '2' on the screen

That doesn't seem right. The following might not be 100% accurate as it's years since I entered a D2 code but it's the general idea for codes which have numbers above 6.

Press '1' then use the arrow keys to display the first digit of the code - in your case, 7.
Then press '1' again & you should get the next digit up automatically, being 1.

    And so on....

Hi no this didn't work the arrow keys wouldn't change the display and when I went out of it it left a 3 on the display which I think means I have one more chance to get it right or it locks me out
    Thanks Bob

    OK

I am guessing you have the Head Unit that is the basic CD player?

    OK directly from manual:

If power to the audio unit has been interrupted (Vehicle battery disconnected, for example), the code must be re-entered before the set will operate. Enter the code as follows:

    1. Switch on the set 'CODE -- -- -- --' appears in the display
    2. Press pre-set button 1 repeatedly until the correct digit of the code is shown.
    3. Press the second pre-set button repeatedly to select the second digit of the code
    4. Press pre-set 3 until the thrid digit of the code is shown in the display.
    5. Press the fourth pre-set button to select the final digit of the code.
    6. With the full code displayed, press the right hand Search control (arrowed in illustration) to enter the code. (I think this is where your going wrong)

After 12 attempts the radio will be locked beyond repair.
