    HF mobiles

G'evening all, does anyone know of a club or association where one can learn the finer points of operating an HF? I've just had a Codan fitted into the Disco and after reading the destructions I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed by it. Cheers ... Ray.

Try your local amateur (ham) radio club. They tend to be very approachable and you should be able to find somebody who knows the gear and is happy to explain how it all works.

CRARC | Main / HomePage these guys may be of use?

Chances are it won't cost you a cent and you will meet some decent, switched on operators.

The group is Codan Outback Radio codan_outback_radio : Discussion of Codan HF Radio

Also while Amateur clubs may have an individual or maybe two who know about Codan, the Codan Outback Radio has many amateurs who know about Codan, as well as hundreds of other Codan users and technicians who are not amateur radio ops.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

G'evening, thanks for that. Watts' put me onto VKS-737, I sent off the cheque this morning. I wondered whether a ham radio outfit would be
appropriate as they more or less operate as base stations and I think they
have to be licensed (?) whereas VKS-737 doesn't, at least individually. There is a decent ham outfit operating in the ACT so I might have a chat
    with them. G'night ... Ray.

How did things go Ray ? Did you end up finding somebody to get you up to speed on your HF gear ?
