Thread: Replacement 'Everything-in-one' headunit

I also purchased this unit after reading Peter's posts (you should get kickbacks from eonon)

I have installed the camera under the door handle area next to the rh number plate light. I ran the wiring in the same area as Peter. I also purchased the digital tv unit and was wondering if anyone has fitted these, especially the two antennas. I'm not sure where to stick them?

    kind regards Dan.

I purchased similar unit some time ago, and have not had any issuses with it,
It has built in SD digital tv only and I purchased a HD box for it with twin antennas but this was did not get good reception so I will buy another brand of HD box rhe rest works well. It has IGO8 nav which works well and in addition to reverse camera I have installed a front facing camera in each side mirror looking at front wheels for offroad use. I was thinking of installing Ozi & offroad maps but latest thought is Ipad mini instead.
I reckon these units are great value for money as sound is good and it even wires up to steering wheel controls.

We've now spent a few days driving around the high country. I have to say I'm quite impressed with the gps in the eonon. Its as good or better than any other i have used. The iphone connectivity works well too. I tended to close the screen when we hit the gnarly roads to try and avoid shake.

I have now stripped out the interior of the car to dry out the carpets and look for leaks plus have been looking at camera locations. I will probably go with the location on the rear door handle too.

Fantom - You must live pretty close to my place.

CCS, you might find it helpful to order a couple of the christmas tree fastners that hold the rear door skin on. A couple of mine broke, but i'm a heavy handed diesel mechanic. Also when threading the wiring through the door to body (rubber snake) remove the snake from the flanges it will make it much easier to run the wire through (the snake will still stay in place but has a middle flange that is a pita. I havn't tested the unit out properly yet.

In my attempt to make the camera installation look 'factory', I managed to squeeze the camera loom through the rubber sleeve that carries the eye-level brake light wiring. In the process I think I have broken at least one of the wires. . First repair attempt will involve cutting off the connector and splicing all four wires. If that gets me nowhere then I will probably get one of the their 2.4G wireless camera setups. I have seen the 2.4G idea on ebay but I don't know how much faith I have in them. *shrug* what is the worst that can happen .

Busy sorting out replacement timber floors in the house we just bought, organising a wedding and 5 week Europe honeymoon, so the camera is probably going to take a back seat for the next couple of months.

Hi, if you purchase the aus maps for the navigation gps function, can you also use ozi as a separate gps software.

    cheers

I like the idea of a unit like this - does anyone who has posted in this forum have a D1 - or is the D2 dash the same as the D1 fro installation?

Wondering how I could instal a unit like this one without screen fouling on the dash and not opening fully.

    also -

Do these have iGo 8 ? Are maps included? Or extra cost? or available elsewhere?

How many inputs are on the back? e.g. could you have a rear camera AND a TV box connected to one?

    I'm looking at the
    http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/1-Din-C...DVD/G1310.html
possibly buying it along with the TV components
    http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/1-Din-C...DVD/C0914.html

Is the digital TV box that comes with some of the units only SD or HD ?
Edit - just found the specs - it's SD only.
