Just remember, these cameras can come back to bite you as well...
The evidence they store (your speed, your driving) can be used against you.

I have a Blackvue DVR400 (reccomended by someone on AULRO) & its stuck on the windscreen benind the mirror, you can not see it at all from the drivers seat.
The Etag takes up more room.
not really, to be charged with speeding the detection device has to be calibrated and certified by the relevant authority.
The idiot that videoed himself doing 255kmh in SA and posted it on youtube didnt get charged with speeding. It was something like dangerous driving.
3x brothers are VP & wife ex justice dept, same goes in Vic.
So it still is what I said
10 counts of Dangerous driving or 10 counts of speeding... Doesn't matter... Still expensive.
No passenger thats been inside the car has ever commented on it, likewise, I've had a lot of people look at the Defender from outside and none have said anything, you have to know its there to notice it !!
Sorry loanrange, I missed your question, the link should take you to the same kind of camera that I have.

It has a good image, but takes a while !! To download. I just purchased 2 "navi(8)ate" cameras for my fire brigade trucks $79.00 each from aust post, ..they're a lot easier to use but can't comment yet on pic as they won't download to my Mac PC only Gary
After a scary road rage incident last night, I've finally decided to get myself a decent dash cam for commuting. If I'd had one running last night I would have at least been able to give the cops a rego number to follow up on.
During the winter its definitely dark while I'm going to and from work, so I need something with decent low light performance. Also would like speed display and location.
Looking back at a few old threads it seems the BlackVue cameras have been pretty popular, but possibly there is something else out there now that's just as good but maybe cheaper.
If the BlackVue cameras are still the go, where's the best place to buy at the moment?
Any recommendations?

Just recently purchased a cheapie from officeworks called crash cam. I installed it yesterday but not had chance to review it yet.
Hi, don't waste your money on cheap stuff like I did, yes they work, could you get useful info from it if you need it? No....in the end I brought the black vue DR500 GW HD it's awesome what it can do, and picture quality is as they say true HD, I paid just under $400 for mine but they've come down in price since ....Gary
