I guess you can pull the load area trim off, and the sill kick plates, or drop the roof lining, or run down through the trailer plug grommet, along the chassis, back through the firewall and up the A pillar. Ultimately that's why I went wireless![]()
New here. I have a wired reversing camera with an extra one for the horse float.
Have searched for installing reversing cameras and have learned some useful stuff including how to pull the internal A pillar cover off the Disco II. But how do I get the camera cables from the top of the A pillar to the mirror position?
Any other advice or links to where this has been answered already would be greatly appreciated to avoid the $300 installation fee I have been quoted. Ideally I'm looking for a description of the path to take from the back door to the rear view mirror. Thanks in advance.![]()

Thanks for the response. Yes I was attracted to the wireless option as well. Local car accessory place sells them and the guy advised me to go to the trouble of hard wiring it, even though he only had the wireless version to sell me at the time. Said some customers had had interference issues. I'm sure they work for most people most of the time however I took his advice at the time.
I will probably just bit the bullet and pay someone to do it.
I have a stack of cables up there, running exactly where you want.
Once you come up the inside of the A pillar, you can tuck them under the roof lining, against the front screen. There is plenty of room up there.
You may have to take the sound proofing foam out of the A pillar thou, but I haven't noticed any difference in sound or noise from outside.
Thanks that was the info I needed.
FInished the job. Camera in rear bumper, camera in horse float, wire up A pillar and tucked under leading edge of the roof lining. Wife had a quote for $500 for the lot, took me most of the day but was worth it if you have nothing much else to do.
Small tips from this forum really helped me complete this job. Thanks.
