I have quute a few of these Radios on various bands, there awesome for what they are, yes old technology but still very bullet proof, easy to get, i generally buy then from Ham Fests for about 10-20 bucks each bringvthen home fix them and reprogram, they came in 3 variants FM 91, 92 and 900 on the plate besr the heat sink canvyou tell ne the band code it will be something like W1, E or A
you might be able to sell it to an LROCV member, it can be programmed with the frequency the club uses. 152.575
If its A band yes it can be
Ah ok cool so I can use it then cause I currently dont have one which is awesome save me buying one if it works. Ill have to have a look at vin plate when I go to work on mondayso is it as easy as plug in an use or dose it require programing? ?
No you can't use it legally, you need a license, If you join the LROCV you can apply through the committe to be licenced under the ACMA,
they will give you a call sign and strict terms of use (only used on club trips) Its not a CB
there is no other way you can legally use it. accordingly Any other frequency that you use will need to be licensed.
It needs to be programmed by a radio tech.
I believe the Victorian 4WDC also uses the same system.
