UHF power.
I have an Icom 440N UHF to fit in the defender. Where do you guys take your power from.
Direct from the battery so it has constant power (aux battery of course) I have an aux fuse box under the cubby.
Or from an ignition switched source, which I gather would be the best option.
If this option, where are some options to take the power. The fitting instructions say NOT to use cigarette lighter due to interferance.
Thanks in advance.
Mick
Edit...... Just did some more googling and it appears most articles I found suggest to wire direct to battery and not from vehicles wiring, e.g. stereo or other wiring, once again due to interference from alternators/fans etc.
