1 deep cycle battery set up for D1 and caravan

Currently dont run a deep cyle so was wanting advice on set up for maximum flexibility.

I have a D1 and a caravan, i want to have a deep cycle setup whereby i can use it in the D1 (located in boot area) and moved into caravan for power etc.

So my thinking is to get a dual battery setup on the D1 and run cables to boot with appropriate plugs to battery box... but also continue have merit plug to connect to caravan should i decide to leave battery plugged in there wjilst on the move. When camping, move battery to inside caravan for normal use.

Would the setup be ok? Dont need nor want 2 deep cycles so sharing between vehicles is fine. What unit do you recommend? what battery is good? AGM 130a/h ok?

yep an AGM130 will be fine for what you want, grab a traxide SC80 or similar from drivesafe and fit it up with a dual anderson plug setup and a mechanical isolator for the one outiside the vehicle (just in case the cabling gets damaged or some yahoo tries to bridge it on you)

setup a flylead on the van with an anderson plug and you're pretty much set.

Just thinking a bit more on this...

The second deep cycle battery will be portable, so the location would be on the back cargo area of the disco. If I run the SC80 up front, what size cables are preferred to run from the SC80 to the back cargo area to connect to the battery? Im thinking that given the length of the cable, would there be issues with voltage loss or the SC80 unit doing it thing?

I would have an anderson plug type set up from that cable which would connect to the battery, hence using the plug for easy use and safety.

    Any issues with this setup?
