    If your D4 with the HK branded system has the headphone sockets/panels/controls in the rear doors, then it should be straight forward to upgrade to the surround sound. i think...
    Perhaps the reason subsequent models are so right, is because they made a meal of this one...? Someone got a solid kick up the bum.

    I'll aim to have a dig for cables this weekend... Thanks again for your help with this - sounds like i set quite a challenge!

    OK I think I have a solution to the missing press studs.

    I found the press studs from an electronic components supplier, and the electrically conductive adhesive to stick the stud to the antenna track on the window.

    I'm going to try this on a friends 2010 D4 here in Sydney, see how it works out.

    OT, I know, but think of the cost of that! When Renault got into bed with Nissan they were appalled to find Nissan had 85 different steering wheels in their inventory, for then current and recent cars. Renault had 5. Bear in mind, car companies are required to keep certain stock levels on hand as spare parts over a certain life of each vehicle. 66 different harnesses is madness. Even Ford is smarter than that.

    It's totally baffling, especially when you look at a Jag from the same year and they have one or two different harnesses at most...

    the instructions say wait 24hrs until putting any strain on the joint, so I'll have to see when I get access to this D4 again, probably not for a couple more weeks.

    But I'm confident in this method, looks like a winner.
