Thanks Andy, I haven't updated yet, so I will avoid doing so. I have got the "contours" pack downloaded for my app, as well as the "Here" navigation, which has all the State Forest and NP tracks for turn by turn navigation, so it does all I need - I don't want to lose any of these things!

Hey guys, do you have specific link for these. I downloaded "Memory Maps" but just can't seem to get it to work the right way,, and the maps themselves I don't think are all that good.
On the old laptop, I had Ozi with the Hema, and it worked a treat, but cant seem to get what I want now for the Tablet.

    What tablet?
Did you replace the laptop for a tablet?
if so what operating system(more important that brand/make/model).

If you have an Android tablet, and had Ozi on the laptop, then you must have had maps on the laptop for use in Ozi .. I'm assuming the comment on Hema in there.

So one option for an Android tablet is to get Ozi for Android.
Basically the same thing as Ozi for PC(ie. laptops).
You may have to convert your Hema maps to a different format(easy to do).
For this, the minimal expense of $25 for a new copy of Ozi for Android is not really much $s.
Otherwise you could get the Hema Android app.
Maps sound fairly basic at 150K(not a lot of detail, but could suffice for you). And they have a Pro version with 9K(very detailed) map data.
This is what I'd be interested in more than anything else!

If your tablet is an iPad, about the only app I know will do for 'ya would be Hemas app.
Ozi doesn't come in any Mac/iOS flavour.

    Marcus.
My Tablet(s),I have 2 are Samsung. The big one was too big for the dash,Telstra gave me a "free" 8" tablet with a data share plan with my mobile. The big tablet still has the original Hema Explorer, the smaller one has the pro.The pro zooms in a lot closer than Explorer, has all the maps for Australia at that zoom level too.
I don't think you can purchase Hema Explorer anymore, you can only subscribe to Pro.
If you are android, look it up on Google Play.

Are there any secrets to Google Play Store as it is not playing nice. I have a Google account and it lets me login but keeps telling me that I do not have a device attached to the account (or something like that).

This means I am unable to get any Android apps at all, specifically wikicamps.

I assume you're doing this on PC? If so, try doing it directly on the device.

I've sent you a PM with my number if you still need help tomorrow.

Tks, I have tried it on both my PC and the Samsung tablet.

Thanks guys, had a quick look last night when I got back from dinner. AK, I have a new Samsung Tablet, 8 or something, and the Ozi and Hema maps were on my old laptop,, which is now gone, but I still have the program disk etc, which of course is no good for the Tablet.
Looking at the Hema maps one, there's actually two to choose from, ones $50 and ones $30 odd. It s ems to only want me to choos the cheaper one which I'm assuming is the "update", and wow, hasn't that got some bad reviews.
I'll have a better look tonight and see what goes.
As far as Ozi goes, there also seem to be a lot of stuffing around to get what I need/want. Having to download a "trial pack" first then getting more after.

On the tablet you should be able to just goto the play store app. It should then ask you to sign in, unless you chose not to connect your google account to your tablet.

    Yes .. but No!

From my reckoning(of what you have)
Ozi for the lappie. (do you have a large PC of any type .. other laptop or Desktop ** more on that at the bottom)
Hema maps(on a DVD or CD)?

if so, all you need is Ozi for Android.(oh! and PC of any type).
Your Hema maps disk is just a bunch of image files.

I dunno which one you have, but I have two.
Very very old Desert tracks from Hema(basically central Aus) which came with disk and maps ina neat folder all those years back.
Only recently I also bought the Hema map pack from the Ozi site.
The beauty of gettign it from Ozi, is that they're already in the 'correct format' for Ozi .. which is .OZF4.
That's just liek a jpg photo file, but specifically only for Ozi Explorer.

If you got the Hema maps (say) from another site, they probably aren't in the Ozi format required for Ozi for Android(which is .ozf4).
jpgs can work, but you don't want them too large(it slows Ozi on Android too much)
If they are tiff, or many other formats, you can easily convert them with a Ozi app called Img2Ozf .. which runs on a PC(told ya .. you need a PC).

The rest of the 'software' on the Hema disk is useless .. all you want are the image files .. either in the right ozf4 format, or to convert them so.

Browse the disk(see, told 'ya you need a PC! ) and find them all.

Now. you bought a license for Ozi, whenever you did (just like I did about 12 years ago!). As long as you got rid of Ozi off the old laptop, or don't use it on there, then you're free to ruin it on another device(ie. PC).
My copy has been through 3 PC over those 12(maybe more now) years.
Des says you're fine to do it(well he told me I was, I had to email him to get him to send me my registration details, as I'd lost them .. or forgot to store them.

And, Ozi on PC is about the best way to configure Ozi for Android for just about any and every thing.
Main config advantage is to configure Ozi for Android with a screen to YOUR liking. Defaults are good, but not enough info, or buttons to do stuff.

The only limitation about Ozi for Android is that for every new device, you do have to re purchase Ozi for Android again(unlike the PC version!)
I wanted to update my Galaxy Tab7 too to an 8", mainly for other stuff.
But ATM I'm content with what I have, so am holding back.

But, basically as you already have most of the things you need, all you need is the $30-ish for Ozi-Android and you're set.
