Three year after the cable was run in our street and five or more contractors digging, replacing cables, connectors and replacing replacement cables and parts yet another one outside today.

No one in my street has NBN yet.

Oddly NBN co has changed the expected date to October 2018. It was Feb 2019 a few weeks ago. NBN co has a email notification option which I had registered for updates with over the last year or two at least twice.

Why am I not surprised the NBN Notification did not let me know of its date change with all the people working(?) or at least being paid to install the cabling in my area over the last couple of years his comments about faults on their circuits is not really surprising either - N B N = No bloody Internet I hear

I do have NBN at work not to far away. It does work well or at least a lot better than the ADSL1 we have.

I believe a lot, if not all the NBN work, is being carried out by the same crowd (Service Stream ) who are contracted by AGL to install the Smart Meters.

I'm not surprised at the trouble you are having as that is how they seem to operate, many unfulfilled visits, left hand not communicating with the right hand & ours is still not done despite promises.. No wonder the NBN is lagging far behind expectations.

    Have a gig..........

There are dozens of companies around the country doing the NBN installation work - we supply equipment almost all of them. Service Stream may be the ones doing your area.

we got it years ago, was a fast improvement over the ADSL2+ in reliability and consistency. HOWEVER, it came at a pretty hefty price tag and now they almost force me to have stupid pay tv that I dont watch and a home phone that I dont want..... the packages I've seen are just a ripoff.

Well, you guys up in the hills only just got a Maccas, so something as high tech as the NBN will take a bit longer.

But yeah, in all seriousness, pretty **** when you look at the map and see that everyone around you is already connected - Upper Ferntree Gully, Monbulk and Emerald are all connected - just a bit in the middle with you guys, Belgrave and Upwey missing out.
