The 1:250K maps can be downloaded free from

https://www.ga.gov.au/products/servl...EFINE_PRODUCTS

you will need to register with the site, find the maps you want (make sure you get .ecw format). They will then email a link to complete the down load.

After you have unzipped them you will need to open Ozi and go to

File | import map | ecw

This will create the .map file which will pair with the ecw to give you usable mapping.

I have down loaded a map, (only 1 for the pemberton area), from the aforementioned govt site. i v'e also used the google mv software to down load map images from google, and output an oziexp map file.

The govt maps are much more detailed from the point of view of place names and labelling. The google maps, as long as you have used an appropriate zoom level, have much more detail of roads and tracks. In the pemberton area only, there are numerous tracks shown that are not on the govt maps.

Must be hopeless, I downloaded the simpson north and south maps, the topagraphic ones (arethey the right ones). The only thing I successfull imported into ozi is a grid

Try Google maps for oziexplorer (googleozi) you can make google earth images into ozi maps. Low res for unregistered but you can do a lot of small maps and use map merge to make a larger one.
