Terminating Cable ? Need help please

I have a GME AE4018K1 UHF CB Antenna, just like this one:

    Prestigecom.net.au GME AE4018K1 Antenna - $89.10

Problem is I just realised that once Ive threaded the cable to where I want it, I have to terminate it to the "plug".

The plug seems to be 2 parts. The outer sleeve )which you obviously thread onto the cable first and then the inner part - to which you attach the cable somehow, and then screw the outer part over the top.

Problem is that I don;t know how to do the termination. I'm pretty sure I can handle the inner core into the spiky plug bit ( ROFL) but no idea how this thing goes togerther - how to handle the outer sheath etc.

    All help gratefully appreciated.

I want to knock this job over today PLEASE.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

you need to trim the outer and inner sleves of the coax.

slide the outer bezel of the fitting down onto the cable
then fold the external braid backwards over the external insulation
poke the inner bit up through the back of the "spiked fitting" and screw it back over the braid thats folded over the outer insulation.
once thats done solder the inner wire into the male spike.
screw the bezel over the lot.
trim the loose wires that might be left out of the outer shield.

Done, you're welcome to drop by tomorrow (post 1030) and I'll help sort it if you havent got it already.

Yeah Inc but like I said its a 2 piece not 3 piece plug (including the cover ring thingy).

I think blknight has kind of hit it on the head but I considered that way and didn't think it would make for a very good contact with the outer sheath. So we filed the outer portion of the bottom the the plug and found it was actually brass - tinned it, soldered the sheath part of the cable over that, covered it all in heatshrink and it looks just like a bought one now. Even better - it works.
