Disco II front pillar split speakers on a disco 1?

    Hey Guys,

Has anyone ever fitted the pillar covers out of a disco II that have the split speakers in them into a disco I? Would love to get a set of splits for the front of my new ride to make the sounds sweet.

Also - and I know this may sound a little far fetched - but I'm pretty sure they're 6" speakers in the door skins of a disco II? If so, can those skins be fitted to a disco 1? (forgive me if I sound daft, ex fairmont man here learning the Land Rover way...)

    Cheers,
    -Adam.

Further to this, I've found out they'll fit ok and already have a set on the way to fit.

They were fitted to all update Disco years but until about 97 only the fancy pants models got the A pillar tweeters.
Best thing to do is remove the factory tweeters and fit some aftermarket ones behind the grill.

Sorry missed the second part of your question.
    You won't fit a 6in speaker in a Disco1 front door.

Why do you want to fit Disco2 speakers in your Disco1 anyway? Get aftermarket gear. It will be 1000 times better.

please dont give the car stereo freaks on here ideas...... 3-way splits would be nice

as for "it wont fit"..... when it comes to car stereo, ANYTHING is possible with MDF, bog and fibreglass!

Ahh sorry not so clear - I dont wanna fit the disco 2 speakers - would always put something more high qual in. I was thinking that the disco 2 had 6" speaker holes in the door skins so was toying with the idea of putting those on. Have however today scored a set of Kenwood 4" speakers with splits so will test drive these and see how they go - if no good, well then some 6" may go in.

Got also a set of 6x9's to put in the back, so should sound really good when done and have also found the A pillar covers with the tweeter parts in so all good to go!
