iLuv cable does not work for outgoing calls.
Back on the hunt.
Ah yes, but can you answer the phone with it?
I had mine hooked through a standard 3.5mm audio cable into the aux. input on my stereo. I could hear the audio and GPS talk through the stereo no problems, but not make/take phone calls. Bummer!
Yesterday I went hunting for a solution. Dick Smith, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Clive Anthony's and JB HiFi. They all had the same solution. Buy a $90+ or $140+ Belkin jigger and chuck your old cradle and charger out. Me thinks, bugger that!
The hunt ended up at K-Mart where I bought a $25.00 iLuv cable that converts the 3 contact iPhone cable to a standard audio. Even has volume control and skip/pause button inline which you can answer/hangup/adjust call volume with.
Works like a charm! Admittedly the cab of my truck looks like a bowl of spaghetti with all the cables but it will clean up with a few cable ties.
So my solution was a $29.00 Belkin cig. charger, $25.00 generic windscreen cradle, $25.00 iLuv cable and an audio cable which I had anyway. Any link in the chain breaks down I can replace it rather than the whole bloody thing (ahhh, the Nokia car cradle days).

the cable i bought plugs into the top of the phone and is for my home stereo it has two rca outs and if i get a message the music pauses message tones go music starts playing again than if i get a phone call music pauses phone rings and music dont come back on so you know if you have a missed call coz you have no music
Yeah I know what you mean.
I have gone back to my old Moto. T305 visor mount bluetooth.
I'll try it out for a few days as it seems ok.
Would appear that Apple are up to their old tricks of not sharing information which makes in-car hands free calls very 'clunky'.
