If you have already googled the model number, pardon my saying this:
It's an AM (27mhz) CB radio. Not a bad unit as such things go - but generally outmoded. I would suggest a FM (477mhz band) unit. My personal favorite is a Tait 2020.
does anyone know about these?![]()

Not a particularly good unit, maybe as a paperweight
27Mhz and AM only restricts its use further.
I'd suggest just throwing it out IMHO.
thanks for the advice guys, so try and stay away from am radios then???
Virtually nobody uses them these days. There's two or three out in my shed gathering dust.
Even 27 mHz SSB units, which have a much greater range, are virtually useless these days, as nobody uses these either. There's also about 6 of these in my shed - I've been meaning to hook one up just to see if there's still anyone using them.
Just about everyone's moved to UHF these days. Unfortunately, they've become so cheap and common that everyone and his dog has one, including the dickhead brigade who have so little brains, it's a wonder they can figure out how to operate the transmit button.
Cheers .........
