I'm trying to work out if:

    1. you need a SD card to do it.
    2. In a DHD if it's worth it, as alot of the features that aren't available pre root in other regions seem to work here. (wii hotspot for instance).

It has issues with usb connections. Connects and sees as a drive but in any other mode after a few minutes disconnects and says it has drievrs issues.

with my desire hd I just use the wifi hotspot function to connect to one or more computers. So far I've had 3 computers sharing the phones internet with only a hint of lag. When I'm at home I connect to our wireless network via wifi for web browsing and chasing apps through the app market. I haven't seen the need to root the phone yet because it can do everything without voiding warranty.
