Ebola Monkey Man: Nigerian 419 Scam
Typical phonecall telling my my computer had some problem files causing it to run slow (second one of these calls ) I was asked to check some files and tell them if any were marked danger or warning. I told them no, there were no files marked like this. This confused them somewhat and then they tried to get me to give them access to my computer.... It was at this point that I politely told them I knew this was a scam and I hung up!! ONE FOR THE GOODIES.

Ebola Monkey Man: Nigerian 419 Scam
Ha ha ha,
This makes me laugh. I had the scammer call me up at home. I work in the IT game and scam where you find a error in the event log, and then download there remote assistance software and install their dodgey software.
So I get the call and I am asked if I am sitting in front of the PC (I was actually outside in the shed) and I said yeah yeah. So we open the event log, scan the system log and find an error. So the person tells me I need their software so I am like yeah ok this is wonderful. So they direct me to this remote control website and asks me to logon, of which I do, on my IPHONE. So anyway she sees I have logged on and next thing she is saying "what do you see" of which I say, start remote session. So we go through this process and the next thing she says is, sir your using an iphone. I cracked up laughing.
What a better way to waste 40 minutes than by stringing one of these ****** along.
Cheers
Rich
You aren't outscamming anyone, you just called them on teh scam.
You haven't outscammed anyone until you've gotten money from THEM BUT be aware that you may be breaking the law if you do so.
Sad but true nevertheless. Of course they are hardly likely to call the cops on you....
And don't kid yourself... they have all the time in the world. They only need a very very very small percentage of these calls / scam attempts to pay off and it is worthwhile for them.
