    iPhone 4 Hotspot

    Hi All,

Tethered my Macbook via the iPhone (to access the net) for the first time a couple of days ago, away from home. Used bluetooth rather than USB cable.

    Couple of observations:

It was faster than the broadband connection that I have at home (ADSL at about the max distance from nearest exchange).

And it is very simple to do.

    (Using Telstra for all connections)

    cheers, DL

Try tethering with WiFi, it should be quicker again and the range is much better. Will be interesting to see how you go.

Even better you can tether up to 5 devices. I've only tried 2 at once - one wifi the other USB as I need to charge the iPhone.

    Darn! Darn! Darn!
My 3Gs only does hard tether . I will have to throw it away and get a 4. NOT!
I guess I will have to wait until the 5 is launched. Then my son will give me his 4, hopefully. Until then I will just have to suffer.
