    Anybody Purchased An Epad

I was wondering if anybody has an Epad. I am thinking of buying one for reading ebooks and having the option to go online. I am disabled and spend alot of time on the bed with pain. The price suits my budget.

Epad is the Indian version.....apparently the Indian government has bought a million units driving the local price down to $10.....I read they were fine but battery time was problem.

Sorry wrong country. This is what I meant:

As to the Chinese model, I saw one last November and I didn't like the fact is was very hot to hold and was not convinced it could accept ebooks or other apps.

I have just ordered one after a bit of research. I have gone with a Kogan branded ( Aussie firm with a proper Guarantee ) tablet PC running Android 2.3. It has the all important capacitive touch screen like an ipad which puts it well ahead of most of the cheap ones and the processor and memory are up with the best. I will load Kindle, the Amazon book reading software when get it and it will be used for reading and light web surfing via wi-fi

I've looked at the Kogan as well, I'll be very interested in your thoughts when you get it up and running.
    cheers

Well I have had a few days to have a play and am so far happy. Android is all new to me so had to have a read of the instructions for Android to get the thing connected to my laptop to load some e-books, music and photos. After using windows for so long its not easy to break old habits.
The e-pad comes with an e-book reader however I loaded Kindle as I have books in the compatible format ( mobi). Getting online is easy via wi-fi and accessing e-mails and web straight forward. I already have a gmail account which seems necessary. The screen is great and very responsive and the build quality seems very good.
    Money well spent

    Don't buy the ePad

My boss bought an ePad one year ago and the thing just didnt work properly...It had a version of Windows running. After a while he gave up and put it in the bin. I saw it and thought the performance was terrible and it looked really flimsy.
Maybe they have improved in 12 months....
