    Lexmark Printers . . .aargh!

I've loaded a new re-charged black ink cartridge into my Lexmark 5650 Printer but it won't print.
The prompt on the front panel screen keeps saying that the black and color cartridges require replacing.
I've removed the ink cartridges from the printer and put them back in several times.
The color cartridge has hardly ever been used so I know it's not empty. Both cartridges, especially the newly re-charged black one produce ink when pressed with a tissue. But the Printer insists on it's message and I can't print off a Word document.
Anyone got any clues on how to get around this infernal contraption (!).

Bin it and buy a cheap monochrome laser printer for your daily work. I seriously dislike inkjets, they're a con job. Since the invention of multifunction lasers, basic ones go second hand for very little. Check ebay for one in your area. My s/h Lexmark came with a spare toner cartridge and has lasted 2 years in light office duty, all for $50 or so.

    Try this:
"Use clear tape over left hand row of sensors on front of cartridge and re-insert. ink now shows with question mark but reads as full and prints fine"
