I am afriad I think this thread is "much ado about not Much"
If someone steals your phone, they can just take out thesim( although a stolen phone should be useless as the IAIE? code can be barred )

If the phone is lost and Find my phone is used from all I have read there would only be specific circumstances that it would be findable.

If Location services were turned off and the phone was in a building, then the GPS even if it was activated by Find my Phone would not work, and location would depend on whether the phone was sighted by 3 cells.

I had the personal experience with my 3GS when I was trying to get a bearing to a TV repeater , that Location Service located the phone about a kilometer away from my house, which I put down to contact by only 2 towers.( as the location given was a proportionate distance from the two cells the phone was seen by but in a straight line not triangulated)

It maybe would work in NY, but in the burbs in Oz , a bit iffey, and hardly a reason to buy an Iphone 4 over a HTC.
    Regards Philip A

If you have access to any other phone that can do what an iphoney can do then you have access to the net therefore you can find your HTC, YES?

BTW I am an avid mac user, 2 laptops, 3 desktops, etc but would never own a iphone.

There are already numerous cases where this app has allowed users to have their iPhones returned, including (at least) 1 where the police were involved.

I dunno if your HTC can do this through another phone, greeny! Maybe the web loop is locked to a single IP - That's why I asked!
