    Problem posting threads on AULRO

I'm having problems posting on the AULRO forum from one particular laptop. 'Carriage returns' are ignored but when I get home I can edit the post on my home PC and they work OK. The only way to get a 'carriage return' is to type in a command (if I type it in now I get a carriage return and it disappears !). So at the end of this sentence I'll type in the command.
Now it drops down to the next line. It only happens on one laptop (it used to be OK on this laptop) which runs Windows 7 whereas my other PC's are XP. Have I managed to change a setting or something because it's beginning to be a PITA? I'll type in the command a couple of times

I also noticed on this laptop when I try to PM someone as you type in the name it doesn't use a look up list (usually names start to appear as you type). I'm hoping someone can help, I'll input the command again

So what you're actually missing is the CR LF combination. In the short term, try this:

Press and hold ALT then press 1 3
    Release ALT key
(that's your CR or carriage return character)

Press and hold ALT then press 1 0
    Release ALT key
(that's your LF or line feed character)

Highlight and copy (Ctrl C) those 2 characters and paste (Ctrl V) them when you need them

    Have you tried another browser?

There seem to be some new bugs getting around with the new releases of Windows 8 and IE.

Sorry I've had keyboard problems and I was having problems typing numbers and punctuation symbols - hopefully OK now. I don't know if it was Google Chrome or the keyboard driver. I've updated the driver and I'm now using Internet Explorer.

I should have indicated you have to use the numeric keypad not the numbers at the top and the correct codes are Alt 0010 and Alt 0013 (hold the alt key down whilst typing the numbers). Alt 010 and Alt 013 should also work.

Just used the 'quote' function in a thread and all the code's mentioned above for the carriage return are in the 'quote'.
So if I use 'greater than' 'b' 'r' 'space' 'backslash' 'less than' I can get a carriage return on this laptop. I'm typing this code at the end of each line to get a carriage return.

    Strange.....
