    Put in the CD - even on your mac. Open Finder and look at all the files.

    rummage through the folders and look for the 'lt" folder. In it are the pdfs of the manuals and other bits.

    Rename the few pdfs that you want (you don't need them all) and relocate them into another folder somewhere.

    Then next time you connect your iPad to sync it, go to the bottom of the apps page and select iBooks (or PDF reader etc) and upload those manuals in to there.

    FWIW, I use Goodreader 4 as my document management app on the iPad. it works very well, has good chapter support, excellent search functions. I would have nearly 50,000 pages of Aircraft manuals on there. It's the best I or my colleagues know of; it costs around $4 IIRC

    A much slicker way is to sync several folders on your computer to drop box or Sugarsync, then within Goodreader sync to those folders. Then when you drag anything into your folder on your computer it will sync to your iPad. I run 5 different folders like this (of which the LR is one).

    Thanks Stallie - just the info I need!

    When I get home tonight I shall liberate the files on the RAVE CD I have previously purchased .

    Thanks for the other tips too - I have good reader and dropbox so shall try that out.
