Get someone with a laptop to hook to your printer, load the drivers and print something... That will isolate if the printer is the problem..
Don't know much about computers, so I suppose that if anyone knew a person that looked after Computers, repairs, upgrades, problem sorter etc etc in Bayside area of Melbourne that would be good.
Of course, I don't mind paying, you get what you pay for, but I don't wanna be ripped off.
Anyway the immediate issue is our printer. We have a Dell computer, quite old but it's been good, and we have a Canon MP600 Pixma printer, which has also been brilliant, particularly as it cost only a couple of hundred dollars when be bought it new many years ago. Never had a problem with it.
Anyway, what is happening now is that the printer is not printing properly. When printing out an email, it may just print out the top address, but it won't print the body of the text, & it also won't print web pages clearly,..uneven print, dark & light print etc & horizontal lines across the page. This of course is doing stuff from our computer.
However, when simply copying a document or an image, ie placing the actual item in the printer & copying it, all is fine.
So, is this a printer issue, or is the problem emanating from the computer, which is not sending the correct info etc to the printer?
Thanks for any info at all, Pickles.
