I take it they don't drag across?
Ok, so I now have a new comp, it runs W10,, grrrr
Like everything new, one has to work a few things out, lose the old ways and get with the program. So, I'm learning.
My question at this point is, why cant I use the Smilie's here?
I hit the little icons, but nothing happens unless I do the actual "type". ???
All help greatly appreciated.

I dumped Windows ages ago and installed Linux Mint, I will never have Windows on a computer again apart Linux is better it is also free
Chris
You should find that when you click on submit the icon will appear, I found that when I went to W10 I was having the same problem so I thought I would try just submitting it & the icon appeared
W10 is terrible wish I still had W7 I work out how to do something then when I need to do it again I have forgotten how I did it last time .![]()
Grumpy computer syndrome?
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Well, I am a grumpy old man, but still
It all works fine on my phone, but just not on the comp. you can't drag them Mick, you just click on the one you want and it shows.
If they were to show up in the actual post, there'd be lots of smilies in the post, but alas, only the one I've "written"'as such.
Not sure how the Linux works, I'd want to see it in action before I was to try and swap over I think.
I've been through all my settings, everything seems right. ????

You can run Linux (I like Mint as it is very similar to Windows, the good part anyway) side by side with your existing operating system. You can even download a disc and run it off the disc first to see if you like it before you change anything. I decided to go Linux as Widows was too slow for my older computer and I was getting far too many updates with Windows that were chewing up my downloads. Also I liked the idea that Linux does not really suffer virus attack. On my computer I do accounts for the business, surf the net, visit a couple of forums, I might watch a youtube like or two from here or my other fave forum (hifi forum). I also download and play music, email, basically what we all do on our computers and non of this is very different with Linux. The main difference is for programs you use the free software center icon and download what you need. For word processing and office stuff I use Libre office a free open source office program which is very like Microsoft office only it is better and free of course. I use also a free media player and free disc burning software both better than programs I bought for my Windows computer. If you really must use a Windows program you launch a Linux program called Wine and it opens a mock windows and you can run windows programs in this mode. I downloaded Wine but to be honest I have not needed to use it yet as there always seems to be a better Linux program in the software center.
It is no surprise many computer programmers and other experts use Linux, what is a surprise is so few people even know about it especially as recently it has been voted the best operating system in the computer mags,( yes better than Windows), yet when I mention it I get blank looks..
Chris
Mr Latte, you clearly have rose coloured glasses on.
I run a flavour of Linux. Have done for years. I prefer it when playing on the web.
However, not all software can be run on it.
Can you find a linux version of my BlackVue software because it won't run on wine?
Before changing operating system, Chops, I'd make sure that mapping/navigation software you've got has a linux equivalent.
