    Nice buy for that price.
I recently put a gtx980 in my PC. For $300 it does quite well. Could not justify the 1080. I have a radeon hd6890 and geforce gtx260 in my old spares.

I blew up two 24" 1920*1200 monitors last week. Long story. And looked at the price of a replacement 27" 2560*1440 1ms 144hz monitor.. Crapped myself and order the $3 capacitor to replace the melted one.

My next purchase will be a self-contained CPU water cooler. For $200 I think these look great. Second hand would be even better seeing as I have an older LGA1366 chipset. i5 3.0ghz.

Where did you see a 980 for $300 and can I get one at that price?! I can only see them for about $550 or so

I've only ever bought 1 level down,, so its always been 70's or maybe a 68gts,, but this 580 even at 5 years old rocks pretty hard,,

thought my next new one might have been a 1070 Foundation,, but maybe now I might spring for the full monty,,

Yes, but it's still the first thing that comes to mind when talking GPU's. It's been the catch cry for years...

My first serious GPU was a XFX 8800GTX XT ( which I still think I have somewhere )

Then I had a pair of GTX 260s in SLI ( don't know why I did this )

My last GPU, which is sitting on a shelf in the office, was an EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition

My current GPU is an EVGA GTX 970 SuperClock

I was going to run the 670 as a dedicated PhysX card alongside the 970, but there is little to no actual performance increase

the replacement was a evga 5700HD,, then two, then the 5800 SOC.
