A smoking good quote plus salary sacrifice, meaning it really costs me about half of retail which certainly helps

Oh Pedro...... beware of the emoji ........

    How good a price?

My 13" MBP with a SSD seems to be going ok. I might kick it up to 16g RAM to help keep the spinning beach ball at bay.

I'm really interested to hear what you think of the touch bar and the 4 thunderbolt/usb c ports. One thing i like about the prev gen macbook pros was the fact you didnt need an adapter to use anything that wasnt mac specific (like a standard external hard drive)
Yeh I'll let you know once I've had it for a week or two.... that's still a while away yet.

You are right all the adapters do bug me...

But I'll put something like this on the desk at work:

Only 1 cable to connect that way.

And carry something like this when I'm out with the car and camera.

My cameras now take SD and XQD... so going to have to carry something anyway....

Worked out to be little under 12% off retail for the Mac, Applecare and one of those adapters. Was cost price to my supplier I believe.

I will be salary sacrificing to, but I want to get a quote to fix my current MacBook Pro as this will get handed to the kids. I just don't have time at the moment. Maybe over Christmas once I get to Melbourne. My current MacBook Pro is a 13" with 6 months Apple Care Remaining. I think I might get a 15" this time. I once had a 17" Toshiba and the battery used to last about 15 mins. I got tired of hauling it around the country in a man-bag. I like the portability of the 13' but I find myself splitting the screen a lot these days working on documents and it is a bit small. I have two monitors at work and I always thought they were a bit silly until this year.

Of course the new pricing is steep.
I would also charge ridiculous prices if I had managed to convince people that they should queue up outside my store overnight to get the latest version of my product.
Of course it only remains the latest version for such a short time.
It costs a lot to stay at the bleeding edge.
    I'm glad I don't need to.

I've heard the prev gen top of the line macbook is going for about $2.5k "refurbished" which is a more approachable price.

From what i can tell you get more peripheral ports, more dedicated buttons and less touchbar for $2k less...

I have a 15" windows laptop for working at home. It sucks compared to the twin 24" monitors at work. I have recently started using my ipad as a second screen using an app called duet. While its only 10", being able to put toolbars for CAD or reference drawings on it and work on the main screen less cluttered is so much better. If you have any sort of tablet you can do something similar

    Cheers

No. I haven't even had time to get into an Apple Store to see what it will cost to fix the screen on this one. A new one will probably be early next year. Too many things to put on the D4 at the moment.
