"new" MB came with ( two ram slots) a i7 3750 which is a 22nm cpu which means this board can run 1600 ram,
unfortunately i changed that out to my old i7 2600 which is 32nm and limits the board to 1333,, of which I have exactly 2 x 2gb sticks,,,,
and of course I have used up the last of my thermal paste,, so no more cpu swaps today,,,

system now boots with both ram slots filled,,

success! sort of..
