    Problem that defies logic!

I have a computer problem which I cannot have resolved, so I call upon your combined talent for all things computerish to get me out of my misery
Problem: I cannot log in to my account with Telstra using Firefox. I have spent considerable time on Telstra chat, all to no avail. My Telstra home page has two buttons, one marked login to account and the other to log in to Telstra mail. I want to go to my account so I click the appropriate button and it brings up the login page. I enter my user name and password and I get the "user name or password incorrect" message. I know I am putting in the correct data as I have verified this. So I go to search in firefox and type in Telstra account login and once again i get the login page where I enter the data and it fails again. Following Telstra advice I have deleted my search history and password memory for this site. All to no avail. So I go through the same process using the w 10 inbuilt search engine (which I never use), and the stupid computer works ok and I can log in to my account. What on earth is going on? All I have is a headache having fought this problem for 3 hours now. Other than burning the computer does anyone have a solution to my dilemma?

    Hi Jim,

When you use the inbuilt W10 search function - it is using (I believe) Microsoft Edge - the new web browser from Microsoft. As you say - this works.

But when you use Firefox - it isn't working.. So that would suggest to me that it's a browser based problem.

I'm wondering if you have accidentally saved your username/password (in Firefox) and it keeps autofilling it with the wrong one?

Have a look at this web page - it explains how to delete automatically saved passwords in Firefox... I would see if you have saved any passwords for the Telstra site, and if so - remove them and try again...

Password Manager - Remember, delete, change and import saved passwords in Firefox | Firefox Help

Failing that.. Use Microsoft Edge for Telstra only OR try Safari or Google Chrome!

Delete cookies & data like temporary internet files, restart computer & see if that helps? See if there's an update for Firefox. Try google chrome or safari

I, too, have been having trouble with my Telstra email over the last month.

In my case I was using my Telstra account to send email for email accounts on my own domain.

I contacted Telstra support and they said they could unlock the account but claimed I had a virus that was causing their security protocols to lock my account. After doing the whole deep scan bit the account soon locked again, I suspect it was getting upset at the way the telstra account was being used to send stuff from another domain.

So, I've changed the way I access and send mail on my domain but haven't gotten around to contacting Telstra to get my accounts unlocked again.

While I understand Telstra trying to make their system secure it annoys me no end that a system I've been using for the last 12 years suddenly will not work. Telstra support is a farce, they have no idea how to deal with problems that aren't covered in their script, and there is zero feedback to customers about system changes.

So, in short, get Telstra to reactivate the account.

Download Chrome- has a few issues with some pages (usually ones with Frontpage extensions activated) but not as many issues as FF has. Historically, FF has been a bit too "bleeding edge" to be considered a "reliable" browser. (IMHO of course)
