My Computer refuses to boot up.

Stripped my computer down to move house and when I re-assembled it....it threw a hissy fit, lied to me that it had major problems, refused to load Win Xp. Managed to get it to go into Safe Mode, but can not find anything wrong with it. It starts to load then gets to the WinXP screen then hangs there, tried running repair from the disc but no difference....looks like it will be a trip to Dave's after Xmas. I am at my daughters house using her computer

Check to see if any pins on the plugs and connections are not bent or loose.

Maybe a connection inside to computer has shaken loose ..... did you transport it by landie .

Mine has become very unstable with heat. Rebuilt it twice this month and still have to reboot and fight the blue screen of death regurly.

if it starts OK into safe mode but fails at normal boot up it generally means it's a driver fault, ( ok not always but mostly, could also be a corrupt file or bit of software)
Try re-installing you driver for motherboard, video card etc.
    Or....
You could try going back to a recent restore point?

Puty is up and running now.......what was the problem? I hear you all ask.....Have not got a clue.......left it running for about 4 days and it suddenly booted up all by its self, rather suspect that there may have been mositure in the system anyway,, it is running and peace has returned to the house

Already has both side panels off. Next step is to put a huge fan next to it.
