But Series-ly ...
The only down side with Macs is there is less software titles for OsX than Windows - that includes the Series II manual and parts catalogue on CD. All the pdfs are only available through the GUI which an EXE file.
Now, having said that, my MacBookPro is on order (I wanted one with NORMAL keyboard not that Euro stuff). Once I get it, first thing to do will be to install Parallels and Windows. This way, I can run both Mac OsX and Windows in, well, a window and all the apps (our Director of IT does that and manages the whole interational network on his Mac).
... or get BootCamp and boot either OsX or Windows
You could consider the initial expense a bad point. But, having worked in electronics industry I'd like to believe that the hardware is well designed with better components. So all in all, lack of down-time (if any), the fact that it works straight out of the box will account for the extra money spent up front.
So, no, there is no bad things about Mac - you can run ALL the software you like on EITHER Windows or OsX or both at the same time...
No no noooooo... Land Rovers are based on UNIX: everything but the Defender as nice GUI, Defender and nSeries are just as it should be:

Go for it. I've been running Macs for about 7 years now, and while there is a PC in the office, it's really only used for proofing web design jobs, ebay and handling files from clients who run PCs.
Given the choice I'd get rid of the PC, but it belongs to my partner.
Thanks guys.
Inc -- will mainly used for photography (lots of RAM) and surfing the web. Everything else is done at work.
One of the key reasons for my hesitation is having to pay for the MAC software license for the stuff I have already got (Photoshop and Nikon Capture)...

Noddy, they are great, stable, and come with most things you need built in. The security is sensational too.
They just work. They have converters for everthing. A friend had a nice nikon that put out NEF files. On her pc she has to use all sorts of stuff to work with them. Everything on the apple knows how to handle graphic arts files.
With the new ones you can run windoze so there isn't too much in the way of excuses anymore.
You do pay for them, but have a close look at the specs and you'll see they are seriously premium hardware. Really top notch stuff.
Thanks everyone!
Inc -- would appreciate your feedback on CS2.
If I went to a Mac, I would probably use Aperature (instead of Capture) for my NEF conversions. I hear Aperature is very good.
Thanks
