Afraid I'm deadset against Ipods, far to finicky compared to the iriver for my tastes, and too much a fashion item (no offence intended to anyone) which makes me run the other way.
Maybe I can get a used iriver T10 somewhere.

Might be a bit late... But I've got a Creative Zen and that has the ability to delete on the run. Also takes SD card so you can upgrade your memory, plug it into your computer or TV or digital camera. Also plays movies...
I've had it for about six months. It was only $170 and it's a sweet little unit. I highly recommend them.

I have a gen 1 iPod Touch and a gen 1 Nano. Love 'em both!
Never had an issue with either.
Wouldn't go back to any other make, tbh, and I've had a few over the years.
