Aside from that it works OK now, but the darned pop up "permissions" annoy me a lot.

The best fix for that is "Tweak UAC" which is the easiest way to supress it's warnings without disabling it completely.

Lets hope they give you a functional, stable, and secure operating system. I wouldn't hold out high hopes though for as far as I'm aware MS are yet to do this...

Been running the laptop with Vista since the end of October. I've rebooted for updates, that's it, no crashes.

Firefox has crashed a bunch of times due to some Java thing that I haven't bothered to chase down.

All in all, pretty good. Lots less crashes than I had with XP.

Of course the big bonus is the wireless radar that I think is a Toshiba thing. Little radar screen comes up on the desktop showing all the local wireless AP's. Very WWII.
