Thats weird, because I have the latest IE and my NAB site gives me a warning about it and suggests firefox as an alternative.
I railed against the IT people at the NAB for yonks when I started using FF years ago as it technically wasn't a 'supported' browser, and therefore not 'secure' compared to IEbut still worked fine for this numb nut mechanic.
The IT people there kept saying, "we recommend IE, we don't support alternative browsers".
Now these days FF is all OK and hunky dory with the NAB.
I updated to FF 3.5 the other day and when I logged on to do some net banking yesterday, lo and behold their site told me my browser wasn't supported and I had to go to either MS or Mozilla for the latest version of their respective browser...
Ok, ok, I just love bank bashing and it was some more ammunition![]()

From an IT prospective it's quite a minefield supporting all sorts of different browsers. Fortunately for me we can control what people use... but if you have an external facing system keeping up with new versions of browsers would be quite a headache.
Personally, I can't understand why anyone would use IE when Firefox is available but people are creatures of habit..
EDIT: But don't let any of that stop you from having a good whinge![]()
2005 Defender 110
really ?
Although I did have the odd freeze up with the more recent updates of FF3.
The few times I've had to use IE on someone else's computer, particularly the ones in the local CTC (Community Technology Centre) I can't wait to get back to FF.
I started loading FF on to the computers there but the Council IT people pulled it off when doing a system cleanup.
Yeah.. see you can't explain to people that crashing is pretty much a problem for Microsoft users. They just accept it.Of course UNIX or linux based systems crash, but for a properly setup installation it should be an exception, not a regular occurrence.
Here is a sample from an old production Oracle server at work. If you don't want to read the geek talk the server was setup in 2000 and has been running for 739 days.

Been using FF3 since it came out, just about, and it may have crashed once in that time (I suspect a plugin). And, of course, the OS (Hardy) does not crash very often - actually I have had the keyboard/desktop freeze due to a runaway application probably three times in the last three years.
