My old FX card won't work as it only has the VGA output .... You have prompted me to read the instructions to my old vid card (MSI .. NX8500GT series) that has a DVI output .. that says if you want to convert the DVI to a HDMI ... that you have to make a connection from the vid card to the motherboard ... My mother board has a section of pins that have HDMI printed on themQuote:

I havn't had any issues with mine. HDMI into the LCD TV works a treat. Normal coectio into the 24 inch wide screen LCD monitor works a treat also.

Just looked up my settings and the TV is displaying at 1920 x 1080:).
So the settings on your PC ..... Start / control panel / settings / display .... is set to 1920 x 1080??Quote:

Look around google for HDCP (high definition content protection) over HDMI and DVI. If one or another device in the video stream is not compliant with HDCP then HDCP will downgrade the video resolution. I get 1920*1080 from a PC on my TV. Maybe I'm just lucky and maybe your just unlucky.

So ... can you confirm the following bit, please ....
Is your PC / control panel / vid card / settings ... set to 1920x1080 ... and can you see the windows XP desktop icons OK :cool: ... + which / what vid card are you using??
My samsung also registers the 1920x1080 on the TV screen when it fires up .... BUT the vid card in the PC can only be set to the 1360 x 768 to view the XP desktop properly :(

Out of interest, have you checked the refresh rate of the video card? And using the HDMI3 input?
