There should be a "Startup" listing somewhere in 7,,
you need to disable livemail.
On opening Win 7, I keep getting a screen which wants me to "sign up" to "livemail". Since I use thunderbird (and it's working fine under Win 7)I can't see that I'll ever need it....
Can anyone let me know how I can avoid having this annoying start-up inclusion each time I switch on ??

thanks basil - it looks like it might help - I'll try it when I've got some spare time
Well it took less time than it does to relate...
following these directions :
"2. Open the Control Panel (All items view) and click on the Administrative Tools icon, then click on System Configuration. Close the Control Panel and Administrative Tools windows.
3. If prompted, click on Continue for the UAC prompt, or type in the administrator's password.
4. Click on the Startup tab. (See screenshot below)
5. To Disable a Startup Program -
a) Select a listed startup program and uncheck it. (See screenshot above)
b) Repeat to disable anymore listed startup programs."
obviously it achieved the result I was looking for
thanks again Basil
Pleasure to be of service...
I have just started playing with Windoze 7 on my new laptop, so have heaps to learn.
The jury is still out on if it is better than Vista, but so far, so good. But then again, anything is better than Vista...
Gotta say, still prefer XP over all of them, but I am keeping an open mind....

Me too (I think)... I found out after interminable phone calls today that Telstra cannot yet supply a usb network adapter which is compatible with Win7
D Smiths have a d-link 130 for $129 !!!!!
(my present adapter is a Netgear wg111v2 for which neither the manuf or MS have any software fix for yet)
